Yeh Faasle...

Ye faasle terii galiyon ke hamse tay na hue
hazaar baar ruke hum, hazaar baar chale

na jaane kaun sii mittii watan kii mittii thii
nazar mein dhool, zigar mein liye ghubaar chale

ye kaisi sarahadein uljhi hui hain pairon mein,
hum apne ghar ki taraf utthke baar baar chale,

na raastaa kahiin tthahraa na manzilein tthahriin,
ye umr udtii hui gard mein guzaar chale ...

~Gulzar

Muddatein hui, humne ek film dekhi thhi, "Mammo". Amit Phalke, Fareeda Jalal aur Surekha Seekri. Doordarshan par aayi thhi. Main yeh jaan kar bada khush hua thha ki us ladke ka bhi naam "Amit" hai. Un dinon Doordarshan par "Mammo" jaisi filmein dikhaayi jaati thhiin. Jaane kya baat thhi is film mein, zehan mein tthahar sii gayi, khaas kar ye nazm. Aur mazey kii baat ye bhi hai, ki yeh nazm us ek baar ke baad sunne ko naseeb nahin hui, lekin ab tak zabaan par chadhi hui hai. Goya, humnein koshish kaafi kii thhi, ki kahin se mil jaaye (aur koshish ab bhi jaari hai!).
Jaane kitni baar humnein khud ko yeh nazm gungunaate huey, yaa ek andekhe se background mein bajte huey paaya hai. Gaadi ki chhuk chhuk ke beech Chilka ki pursuqoon hawaaon mein, aur jab Janpath se liye huey khaadi ka kurta pahne aur angochcha liye (jo jaan-boojh kar pahna gaya thha ki main orissa ke aadivaasiyon ke beech koi ajoobaa na lagoon) Tamana aur Mohuda ke beech ka raasta tay kar raha thha aur har us baar bhi jab "ghar" ke mayane badle hain. Ab itne saal ho chuke hain ghar se door rahte hue ki, is baat ka yakeen nahin raha ki ghar ko mera intezaar hai bhi ya nahin? Woh bhi shayad ab tak mera intezaar nahin karna chahta, aur karey bhi kyon?? Main koi George pancham to hoon nahin!
Isi nazm par kisi se se pahli baar hui baat, lambi "baat-cheet" mein badal gayi thhi, college ki puraani library ke saamne. Library ke saamne aisi "filmi" mulakaat ke baad zaahir see baat hai dil ballion uchchlaa. Haanlaaki isse pahle ki dil uchchal kar baahar nikal aaye, humne bamushkil is par qaaboo kiya aur seedhiyon se utarate is baat par bhi gaur kiya ki aise vaakye aakhir library ke ird-gird hi kyon hote hain?
Aur har baar yeh nazm , atke hue sirey se zabaan par aa giri hai jab faasle tay karne mein khud ko bebas paaya hai, faasle jo bin bataye chupke se dabey paaon aa gaye. Aaj bhi yehi nazm background mein sunaai padti hai jab, raat ki suqoon mein, peeli roshani mein dhuli hui hyderabad ki sadkon par Ghar lautate hue, NIFT ki ladkiyon ko aur khud jaise gale mein apna apna "patta" daale huey logon ko dekhte huey guzartaa hoon. Ab bhi hawaa mere baalon se khelti hai, lekin yeh Chilka ki nahin Hyderabad ki shahri , dhuein waali, garm hawaa hai jisme suqoon to nahin lekin ek khilandadapan zaroor hai.
Jaane aise kitne lamhein bhi is nazm ki hi tarah kahin atke huey hain anjaane siron par, jo muddatein huin ek film mein suni thhi humnein.

Why don't you stay?

I know it’s late, I know you’re weary
I know your plans don’t include me
Still here we are, both of us lonely
Longing for shelter from all that we see
Why should we worry, no one will care girl

Look at the stars so far away
We’ve got tonight, who needs tomorrow?
We’ve got tonight, babe
Why don’ t you stay?

Deep in my soul, I’ve been so lonely
All of my hopes, fading away
I’ve longed for love, like everyone else does
I know I’ll keep searching, even after today

So there it is girl, I’ve said it all now
And here we are babe, what do you say?
We’ve got tonight, who needs tomorrow?
We’ve got tonight babe
Why don’t you stay?

I know it’s late, I know you’re weary
I know your plans don’t include me
Still here we are, both of us lonely
Both of us lonely...

We’ve got tonight, who needs tomorrow?
Let’s make it last, let’s find a way
Turn off the light, come take my hand now

We’ve got tonight babe
Why don’t you stay?
Let's make it last, let's find a way...

Why don't you stay?
~Bob Seger

How does it feel to find something that you have heard years ago, and felt the pangs of the heart, then?Elated and lonely. And years after when you find "it" and listen to it , you realize that not much has changed. I heard this song by Bob Seger, years ago when it featured on "The Wonder Years", Kevin's and mine. Growing up with Kev was fun, though both of us were seperated in time and space. I wish somebody did stay back with Kev and looked at those stars with him ...
